Thank you for visiting the Worship Ministry page.  Our goal is to fulfill the church’s mission of helping people to CONNECT by encountering God, to GROW by deepening their faith and knowledge of Him, to SERVE by glorifying Him through ministry, and to SHARE by obeying the call of the great commission.  Everything we do should be centralized on glorifying God.  Our hearts should reflect an attitude of worship so that Jesus Christ is praised, exalted, magnified and obeyed. This attitude should be lived out daily in every aspect of our lives.

Worship, according to Romans 12:1, is all of life.  Therefore, all functions of the church, in the end, are worship.  Discipleship is worship, service is worship, missions are worship, ministry is worship, etc.  As a church body, we are learning what it means to live a lifestyle of worship.  That is to respond with all that we are to all that God is.  Corporate worship is one of the many ways that we as believers respond to God, and those that serve in the worship ministry help model a proper response to God as we lead the congregation.

Mission Statement
The Worship Ministry at FBC Fountain City is a collection of individual worshipers dedicated to one goal: to glorify God by praising His name and proclaiming His Gospel. It is made up of three primary groups that together lead the church in worship every week during our services.

Choir and Praise Team
• Our Choir and Praise Teams are comprised of worship leaders who meet on Sunday evenings for rehearsal and come together Sunday morning to lead our congregation in singing His praise.
• No experience necessary! We learn new songs through a combination of singing by ear and reading sheet music. Each individual receives a CD of all the songs we sing to worship along with throughout the week.
• Our goal is to lead our congregation in singing songs of praise, both new and old. We sing a combination of hymns and contemporary songs that are true to the Gospel and glorifying to God.

Praise Band
• Our Praise Band is comprised of instrumentalists who choose to glorify God through the talents God has given them to play various instruments. Players of all instruments are invited!
• The Praise Band meets once a week on a weeknight that coordinates with the schedules of those playing that week. Many instrumentalists are on a rotation, allowing them to play in the band while not giving up other ministries in the church.
• The skill to play an instrument is a requirement to be in the Praise Band, but more importantly the heart to worship God and lead others in a Godly way is expected of each member of the Worship Team!

Audio and Visual
• The backbone of our worship ministry is the Audio/Visual volunteers who operate tech devices (Soundboard, iMac, etc.). These individuals help with each practice and rehearsal throughout the week. They are on a weekly rotation to allow them to enjoy other FBC ministries.
• Only basic computer and sound experience is necessary. We need people who have discerning ears and eyes, desiring the worship gathering to run smoothly, and who are ready to troubleshoot if any problems occur.
• Even though primarily working behind the scenes, these individuals are still leading the church in worship through serving to make the worship gathering the best we can offer to God.
